Rakuten TV has just concluded a deal to become an Official Partner of The 61st BFI London Film Festival. The festival begins on October 4th and runs until October 15th. The partnership follows Rakuten TV's strategy to become a key player in the UK film industry. Rakuten, which recently rebranded its Video On Demand service, from Wuaki to Rakuten TV, has recently laid down the gauntlet to other streaming services such as Amazon, iTunes & Netflix, and stated ambitions to increase its reach across the UK, which already has over 1 million users.
Rakuten TV just released The Mummy (2017) as of October 9th and has already released other great horror titles such as Alien: Covenant and Kong: Skull Island, with the award-winning Eat Locals available for streaming from October 30th — Just in time for Halloween. They’ve also promised us a great selection through November and December as well.
We are very much looking forward to a platform that deliver horror films before their rivals, and competition is always welcome, especially in this new, digital age.
Check out what they have to offer on these social media sites and see the full October film release below. Caution: The video contains sappy, disturbing non-horror images like comedy and (*shudders*) romance. You have been forewarned.
