Industrial music was king of the music scene during the ‘90s, so much to the point that plenty of musicians tried to be an electro-punk and included aspects of the sonic style in their music. 20 years later, and the genre is experiencing something of a revival with bands that showcase a well-read anarchist attitude and cunning aggression that is sorely needed in the current political climate.
Enter 3Teeth in 2013, a band that has the intellectual depth of Tool, the industrial strength of the revered Nine Inch Nails (thanks to producer Sean Bevan who worked on their magnum opus, ‘The Downward Spiral‘) and the political awareness of Ministry. 3Teeth have been hand-picked as a supporting band by the aforementioned bands on several tours in recent years – including German band Rammstein for their 2018 New Year’s Eve gig. This should all serve as solid confirmation of talent from the musical giants.
The Los Angeles lads have revealed their new album, ‘Metawar‘, which is due for release on 5 July, and it is shaping up to be even more politically-charged, and in your face than their previous offering, ‘Shutdown.exe‘.
Two singles have already been showcased off the album: “American Landfill” and “EXXXIT”, each reflecting a different theme present on the album, and each with a music video that is just as acerbic and provocatively hard-hitting as the last.
On top of teasing a new album, 3Teeth are in the midst of a European tour with Ministry. They will later blaze through North America along with Author & Punisher and GosT – the other two heads of the industrial music revolution hydra (HAIL!). Check out their website for more details on their current tour dates, and Metatour.
‘Metawar‘ will be released on 5 July through Century Media Records. Pre-orders are available through all major digital retailers.
