Angela Holmes is a relatively normal 27 year old. She has a loving father, a wonderful boyfriend and steady career. A few days after her birthday, she gets into a terrible car accident where she ends up in a coma on life support. A local priest, who later gets entangled in the chaos, tries to help the family with their grief.
After 2 months and being declared brain-dead, the doctors and her family decide to take her off life support. As they are waiting for her last signs of life to disappear, Angela suddenly wakes up, to everyone’s surprise. Whilst being held in the hospital for recovery odd things and terrible accidents start happening around her.
The Vatican takes notice of the recordings of Angela’s sessions, fears the worst, and sends out a high ranking Cardinal to assess the situation. The Cardinal, with the help of the local priest, tries to help Angela and her family, suspecting that she is possessed by the Antichrist.
Together they battle the demon and try to free Angela of the horror, but they were too late.
This movie could have been better, in my opinion, but is somewhat refreshing as they do take a different route than most possession movies do. It’s good versus evil, but with a twist. I enjoyed the twist, personally, so I give the movie points for originality.
While I normally would have given this movie a 4 or a 5, I give it a 6/10.
