Synopsis:
The Manor is the macabre tale of mental patient, Amy Hunter (Christina Robinson) and the horrific events that follow her release from Psychiatrist, Dr. Tryvniak (Rachel True). Amy’s mother, Jane (Tanja Melendez Lynch) feels it best to immerse her daughter in the warm, family atmosphere of Anders Manor, inviting Amy’s long lost family (Eric Lutes, Tandy Tugwell, Danielle Gulden, Michael Zuccola) to join them at the manor. The Manor, however, has deeper plans for the Hunter Family, as gatecrashers and cultists (Sully Erna, Kevin Nash, Mike Bennett) arrive as the nefarious and ancient demonic force, Aka-Mana (David Tessier) goes to work, in short order, to sew madness and reap blood.
The Manor is an upcoming American supernatural horror film and director Jonathon Schermerhorn’s feature-length debut from a screenplay by Mike Messier, Tom DeNucci, Matt O'Conner, and Glenn Jeffery. The Manor is being distributed through Lionsgate and will be arriving on DVD, Digital, and On Demand May 15th.
The plot sounds insane alright. On Amy’s eighteenth birthday, she checks herself out of the mental asylum where she’s been living. Amy’s mother, to celebrate, decides to take her on a family getaway — hoping maybe that she’ll be able to acclimatise to normal family life on the outside. Mother’s plans go horribly wrong when the gettogether is interrupted by cultists and other unwanted waywards — including some kind of puppet-wielding demon.
Have a look at the trailer and cover art below and check out the film once it arrives in May. Thanks for reading and as always, stay sordid.
