A young married couple’s lives are thrown into a harrowing tailspin when an acquaintance from the husband’s past brings mysterious gifts and a horrifying secret to light after more than 20 years.
Now, I do like me a nice psychological thriller, and, well, this film hit the mark for me.
Starring Joel Edgerton, who also wrote the screenplay, as the creepy Gordo, the talented Rebecca Hall as Robyn, and Jason Bateman as Simon.
Now Bateman, who we know best for his comedic roles, takes on this serious role with grace. He is very convincing in his character and is someone you feel you can instantly relate to.
The plot is full of twists, turns, feints and dodges and the conclusion left me wanting more.
Sadly, the trailer makes it look like some cheap, nasty film but I highly recommend seeing it for yourself.
