This autumn marks exactly 50 years after the release of the historically most horrifying horror movie, which shocked viewers all around the world. Now, a new chapter starts on Friday, October 13th. The Exorcist: Believer is the latest film from Blumhouse and director David Gordon Green, who upended the established quo by revitalising the Halloween franchise.
Victor Fielding (Tony winner and Oscar® contender Leslie Odom, Jr.; One Night in Miami, Hamilton) has been raising their daughter, Angela (Lidya Jewett, Good Girls), by himself ever since his pregnant wife passed away in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago.

However, when Angela and her friend Katherine (newcomer Olivia Marcum), go missing in the woods and then turn up three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it sets off a series of events that will force Victor to face the height of evil and, in his panic and desperation, look for the only person alive who has ever seen anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.
Oscar® winner Ellen Burstyn plays Chris MacNeil, an actress whose life has been irreparably changed by what happened to her daughter Regan fifty years before, for the first time since the 1973 movie.

Additionally, the movie features Grammy Award winner Jennifer Nettles (Harriet, The Righteous Gemstones), two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz (Fosse/Verdon, Bloodline), and Emmy Award winner Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale, Hereditary) as Victor and Angela’s neighbours and Katherine’s parents, respectively.
The Exorcist, which was adapted from the best-selling book by William Peter Blatty, changed culture forever when it was published. It broke box office records, garnered 10 Academy Award® nominations, and became the first horror movie to be nominated for Best Picture.
David Gordon Green is the director of The Exorcist: Believer, which was based on a script by Peter Sattler and David Gordon Green, a narrative by Scott Teems, Danny McBride, and David Gordon Green, and characters created by William Peter.
