The listening pleasures of Red Fang can take you to some pretty far-out places. Their music is a journey of sound that assaults the senses with its screeching guitar and intense melody – you’ll catch yourself headbanging instinctively.
The Portland-based veterans consisting of Aaron Beam (bass/vocals/guitar/keyboards), Bryan Giles (guitar/vocals), John Sherman (drums) and David Sullivan (guitars) are experts at bringing the noise. They’ve established themselves as titans of sludge over the course of their 16-year career and back catalogue of 4 studio albums; Red Fang (2009), Murder the Mountains (2011), Whales and Leeches (2013), and Only Ghosts (2016)…and their latest offering is no different.
Stab, slash and rock the fuck out as you play with something shiny and follow their example:
Lockdown has deprived some of us of the joy that is live music and performance art – a void that’s absence has left many an audiophile jonesing for their fix, myself included.
So how stoked was I to find out that the lads would be hosting an online streaming event on July 30 (7 pm pacific/10 pm eastern US) where you can go BOS in your living room to their performance as they showcase tracks from their recently released album, “Arrows” in addition to songs from the ominous “Murder The Mountains?” The Mississippi Studios set performance will feature two segments in which 10 lucky rockers will join Red Fang for a live meet and greet at the venue! (meet and greet spots are first-come, first-serve).
All for the low price of $5! That’s right! For 5 smackeroos, you too can be serenaded in the comfort of your very own filing cabinet. Pets welcome.
Guitarist/vocalist Bryan Giles comments:
“It has been a LONG time since we’ve been able to play a show, but we’re finally doing it! Our good friend Whitey offered to help us put together a streaming event to share our return to the stage with you. We couldn’t be more excited to get this party started again! We’re playing songs from Murder the Mountains to celebrate its 10-year anniversary along with numbers from our brand new album, Arrows. Please join us, it’s going to be a hoot.”
The artwork for all their work is fucking sick and sure to resonate with the newbies, hardcore fans and vision-questers alike. Check out some of the new variants for their of Murder The Mountains, Whales and Leeches, and Only Ghosts.

Distortion and mind-bending percussion may have blown my mind but my tympanic hairs remain intact, making me a sucker for well-produced tunes and Chris Funk (rises to the task and over-achieves on his latest collaboration with the band having featured on previous albums as well.
Arrows is available now, with the album available in a variety of formats, including standard and limited-edition vinyl variants, a CD and if you’re turbo old-school you could even opt for a cassette…(http://bit.ly/redfangarrows), lest we forget digitally as well.
