Are you looking for vampire poodles, giant blobs, werewolves, and creepy dummies? If you are, then Goosebumps (2015) is the movie for you! Goosebumps was a series of books created by R.L Stine in the early 90’s and has sold over 400 million copies. Goosebumps (2015) is based on the books, the movie stars Dylan Minnette as Zach, a boy from New York who moved to a small town in Delaware. He makes friends with his neighbor Hannah, who is played by Odeya Rush. Hannah is a mischievous teenager who disobeys her paranoid father, played by Jack Black. Zach, Hannah, and their new friend Champ, who is played by Ryan Lee, open a new chapter of chaos and terror.
You could tell by the music style that this is a Danny Elfman masterpiece. Elfman is a famous composer who created the music for Monster House, Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas. I think Danny Elfman is awesome because he has a unique music style.
One thing that I noticed is that Slappy was played by Jack Black in the movie, but in the TV series he was played by Annick Obonsawin who voiced Jamie in The Nut Job, which I enjoyed very much. In my opinion, I liked Jack Black’s performance better, because he sounded scarier. Another thing I noticed is that in the TV series Slappy’s hair was red not black.
I enjoyed Goosebumps (2015) very much so I recommend this film to ages 8 and up. Goosebumps is a great movie for kids that want to watch scary movies but cannot, because either they will get scared or their parents won’t let them. Halloween is also coming up so parents could have a Halloween movie night with the whole family.
Born and raised in San Diego California, I grew up loving the action horror and sci-fi genres. The first R rated film I saw was Predator back when I was 8 years old. Aliens blew me away as a youngster and I made a M41-A pulse rifle out of paper towel rolls and rubber bands. I ran around for hours avoiding face huggers and blasting xenomorphs in my back yard and I am bringing that big imagination to Nevermore Horror.
