Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls…
Twelve bloody years later we finally get some good news. Jeepers Creepers 3 has been given the thumbs up and will be heading into production with Francis Ford Coppola at the helm. The original writer/director, Victor Salva, will be returning, as well as Brandon Smith reprising his role as Sergeant Tubbs from the original and Jonathan Breck who played The Creeper.
Salva had the following to say:
“writing and directing a new Jeepers film, the first in over a decade, is incredibly exciting for me and I believe for Jeepers fans all over the world that have been asking for more[…]What will go before cameras as Jeepers Creepers 3 is a new and terrifying chapter from the Jeepers universe. We are bringing back the Creeper's truck, and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from and why it does what it does”.
Bloody Disgusting reported the plot as:
“Jeepers Creepers 3 will show events on the last day of the Creeper's twenty-three day feeding frenzy, as the skeptical Sergent Tubbs teams up with a task force hell bent on destroying the Creeper for good. The Creeper fights back in gory glory as its enemies grow closer than ever before to learning the secret of its dark origins.—
Now you should know by now that monster flicks are my bread and butter with Jeepers Creepers being one of the better ones in the genre. What does concern me about what we know so far is the fact that we are supposedly going to learn all about the whats, wheres, and whys of the Creeper. I’m not sure I want to. I like the mystery behind it all. Most of the time the explanations end up cheesy or just downright stupid. I’m OK with not knowing what he is and why he does what he does because I don’t need closure, I need Creeper! I want to see heads rolling and body parts missing. I want to see those creepy winks and gory gatherings of limbs and livers.
Perhaps I am just overthinking it all. Getting ahead of myself? Maybe I need to look at this all with a fresh pair of eyes…
Shooting is expected to begin early 2016 in Vancouver.
