Taxi for Otis Productions today has announced the launch of its Kickstarter campaign to raise £60,000 for the production of director/producer/actor/
Synopsis:
Wheelchair bound, legendary drummer Egg (AKA Percy Gash-Hound) is having to start his life afresh due to a very indelicate accident and it’s highly publicised aftermath … which saw him get kicked out of the multi-million selling rock band Volcano. Egg teams up with his voluptuous new carer Brody (who also happens to be a mean bassist), and his vertically challenged twin brother Maynard (on guitar) … and together they begin auditioning for a charismatic lead singer so they can begin recording new songs, release an album and then get out on the road.
What should be a very straight forward process is thrown a huge curve ball by the human element. Especially when you add humans such as wannabe serial killer Derek Pendulous, bickering Private Investigators Jack Fire & Emily Brimstone, Otis the talking Great Dane, Kundilini the high kicking mystical vocalist, Ulysses Twist and his weird clipboard fetish … and Egg’s overly conscientious Polish bodyguard Lishke.Dirty Tuppence is a topsy-turvy roller-coaster of a movie injected with a quirkiness and peculiarity that only a writer/director/actor like Warren Speed (who cites his two main influences as Charlie Chaplin and Rob Zombie) could imagine and then bring to life …
The driving force behind Dirty Tuppence — The Movie is eccentric Yorkshireman Warren Speed. Warren’s first movie, Zombie Women of Satan (produced by his previous company, Growling Clown), was released globally on DVD in 2010. The film apparently made quite a splash at Cannes film festival that year. The movie also aired on horror TV channels in both the UK and the USA, reaching over 1.9 million views until it was illegally uploaded to YouTube (it was removed in 2015). Nearly 2 million hits are telling of Zombie Women of Satan's popularity and Warren's potential, even though he dubs the film “trashy, low brow comedy horror featuring his old alter ego – Pervo the Clown.”
He has since released Zombie Women of Satan 2 (AKA “Female Zombie Riot” in the USA), the 80-minute mockumentary — Clown Panic — about the alleged killer clowns in October 2016, and Coulrophobia (roller derby girls go camping in the woods with horrific consequences), which will release in the UK November 13th, 2017.
