The Melbourne based theatrical horror rock band, Darkness Visible, has announced the upcoming release their ninth and most twisted music video to date — Breaking Point.
Breaking point, co-directed by band member David Black, promises to push the boundaries of depravity and debauchery. It features a score of local talent, with burlesque dancers, indie film stars, and Whitney Duff (of Sheborg Massacre fame) as a phallus-wielding nurse.
No strangers to smut
Black, who has been promoting the upcoming release, has been a prominent figure in the Australian alternative scene for decades. His grungy, vampiric, post-punk style of rock reminded me a bit of Nick Cave, if Cave were turned by a sexually depraved Nosferatu. In a previous interview, Black had this to say about the upcoming video:
“After eight music videos, I decided that now was the time to pull out all the stops. This time it was no holds barred and take no prisoners! It's a medical fetish Ozploitation video that has clowns with chainsaws, jelly wrestling in vomit, giant syringes being shoved up bums, dwarves with dildos, boobs, gimps and streaming pus! What more could a person want in a music video?—
–The “not so happy” ending–
What more indeed? Blood, tits, gore, tits, sexy nurses, dwarves with dildos—...tits. That sounds like a good Saturday night out from my younger years, except perhaps without the penile dismemberment. The video is set to go live on youtube in the next few weeks and is currently receiving its last few finishing touches. While you wait, check out some of their previous work and make sure to follow and share.
