Upon hearing “Poison Flowers” I was taken down a rabbit hole of radiant noise that shared whispers of cocaine and decadence which are guaranteed to leave the morose in ecstasy. The co-founder of A Perfect Circle and seasoned veteran of all things audio has released a video for “Poison Flowers”, giving us a glimpse into the masterful melodies of the upcoming 10-track album produced and honed by Billy himself.

When speaking about his upcoming work he had the following to say;
This is me stepping back into my early teen self and making the record I would’ve made if I had the means and the knowledge when I first picked up a guitar—just in 2022,” Howerdel explains. “It’s that moment as a kid when you hear a record, close your eyes, and go somewhere else. That was the time I found my lane, so to speak.”
Reminiscent of all Bowie and a dash of Depeche Mode, if this track is anything to go by, APC fans and folks with a penchant for the alternative prog will most certainly relish the opportunity to devour this new noise and if you’re looking to see it in the flesh then you’re in luck; as a Summer Tour was just announced kicking off on June 11 in Ventura, Calif. The six week trek includes an appearance at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and two shows where Howerdel finds himself on the same bill as his APC bandmate Maynard James Keenan. New Jersey-born, the LA-based vocalist, instrumentalist and sonic savant has solidified his stance as one of the titans of the alt-rock elite. Having honed his craft over decades as a studio-tech for the likes of David Bowie and NIN, “What Normal Was” is a testament to the sonic solace and complex composition that Billy Howerdel continues to grace audiophiles with.
