The eagerly awaited TV adaptation of the popular movie franchise is finally here!
Earlier this year I wrote about how excited I was for this and so I signed up to a streaming service to watch the first episode.
Ash, now 30 years older, 30 lbs heavier, and still living in a trailer, now has one objective: to pick up chicks. He works in a convenience store, avoids responsibility, and tries to hide from his past.
But things start getting weird around town: evil dolls attacking, possessions and freak storms, and Ash, flashing back to a drug filled evening, remembers reading from the Necronomicon to impress his lady guest, realises it’s all his fault.
Whilst attempting to leave town his co-workers, Pablo and Kelly, try to convince Ash to step up and be the hero the world needs.
Needless to say, hijinks ensue with lots of blood, gore and super cheesy one-liners. I was thoroughly entertained, laughed out loud at a few parts, and as a setup for the rest of the series I have lots of hope for this adaptation.
Don’t take my word for it though. Go on and watch it for yourself!
