I was fortune enough to stumble upon some of French artist Senyphine’s (Sandrine Replat) gorgeous pieces while searching for images online. I was immediately drawn to delicate Burton-esque artwork that had a dark yet pleasant feel to it. Many of the pieces seem to be set somewhere between a bohemian-gothic world and a steampunk setting.
Senyphine writes:
I am a traditional and digital artist living in France. I am high school graduated in Graphic Design and Communication (SUPCREA).I use and mix different mediums to make my paintings : pencil, black ink, charcoal pen, acrylic and watercolor painting, Photoshop, Wacom Cintiq.
It is a way for me to explore all the possibilities of each medium and to get the effect that will better fit to the mood. I like to give a eerie atmosphere to my work, painting dreamlike landcapes full of odd characters close to the fairy tales, children's tales and fantasy literature.
She does a lot of book and album artwork, so the images are not that large, but the attention to detail and colorization are top-notch are hypnotizing. Be sure to take visit to her page and website and check out the rest of the art for yourself. Here are a few of my favorites.
