When a couple of college kids decide to go on a hunting trip for their Christmas break, they get more than they bargained for when their past comes back to haunt them. An undead reindeer has set Mr. and Mrs. Claus on a murderous rampage of revenge- with the entire group as the target. As the group struggles to stay alive and figure out what put them on Santa’s Murder List, feelings run high and love triangles are revealed. However, it will take more than love and Christmas cheer to stop the killing. During a fight for survival, the question remains- who killed Rudolph?
Everyone knows my favourite indie Christmas horror is I’m dreaming of a White Doomsday, but there are definitely a few good ones out there. We’ve had the privilege of reviewing both Christmas Blood and Red Christmas here at Nevermore Horror and now we have a newcomer that is fighting for that Heavyweight belt. Christmas Slasher (Yes, not the most original of names) is an upcoming Christmas themed horror film from Lady Destiny Productions, which is actually headed by the star of the film/director/producer, Destiny Soria. A self-described army brat, Soria –who has long been a fan of the classic horror genre–has fought tooth and nail to get the film to where it is now and states that:
“The Christmas Slasher aims to pay homage to the great major horror tropes while also bringing something unique and thought-provoking to the audience.”
The Christmas Slasher is slated to be filmed in Minnesota and Texas, featuring local up-and-coming talent and crew. The cast also includes well-known actors Felissa Rose Lloyd Kaufman, Nicholas Brendon, Carlos Ramirez, and Shawn C. Phillips. Funding is still currently an issue so if this is the kind of film that floats your boat, or perhaps gets your sleigh ready to slay, consider making a contribution to their campaign.
The film is set to follow Alita Claus (Soria) and her friends as they settle down for a weekend of hunting, drinks, and games, but things quickly go awry. Not only is there a malicious zombie reindeer on the loose but someone has angered Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who are now out on a murderous rampage…with the entire group on the hit list. Can our heroine manage to save her friends in time or is everything not entirely as it seems? Yes, this certainly sounds like a bizarre flick but it does sound like there will be plenty of fun kills and weird but wonderful moments…undead Rudolf? I’m in. Also, Nicholas Brendon? Yes, please.
Thanks for reading and as always, stay sordid. We will update this page if the campaign is successful. Check out the artwork below and follow this link to the campaign.
